Pilates is an innovative movement system developed by Joseph Pilates in the early 20th century. Pilates is a low impact, mind body experience focusing on breath, alignment, control and proprioception and uses the perfect blend of mobility and strength. At The Optimist, we honor Joesph Pilates’ traditional system while integrating the most up to date research in strength training, endurance training and modern biomechanics.
