Meet the Team
Olivia Stuart, NCPT,BBMI
FOUNDER
Originally from Philadelphia, PA, Olivia is a Pilates educator and movement specialist with over a decade of teaching experience. A former professional ballet dancer with the Pennsylvania Ballet and the Nashville Ballet, she was first introduced to Pilates as a student at the American Ballet Theatre and quickly recognized its power as both a training tool and a method of injury prevention. She continued her Pilates practice throughout her dance career and went on to earn her Pilates certification through Balanced Body. Olivia holds a BFA from SUNY Purchase College in New York and became a Balanced Body educator in 2020, giving her the opportunity to train the next generation of Pilates instructors around the world.
Beyond the dance world, Olivia has worked with a diverse range of clients, from those navigating pregnancy and injury recovery to professional athletes in the NFL, MLB, and collegiate sports. She has also developed a specialized Pilates-based conditioning and injury prevention program for dancers, which she has taught at professional ballet companies and schools across the country. With a deep understanding of movement and performance, Olivia is passionate about helping every client build strength, mobility, and longevity—whether they’re stepping into the studio for the first time or training at the highest level.
When she’s not teaching, you’ll find Olivia hiking Oak Mountain State Park with her dog, Moose, rooting for the Eagles (GO BIRDS), playing tennis at Brook Highland Racquet Club, or cooking with her daughters.
What makes her an optimist?
“Over the last decade I’ve had the privilege of working with clients from age 6 to 96, each with their own goals, challenges and stories. The commonality between this diverse clientele is the remarkable shift towards optimism both physically and mentally. And while this may seem like a cute sentiment, optimism is strongly supported by research and backs what I witness daily: optimistic people are more likely to move, recover and persevere. I believe movement is not just something we do but rather shapes who we are.”

Her passion lies in creating a space where others can learn, grow, and connect with their bodies in a safe and inspiring way.
What makes her an Optimist?
“I see possibility where others might see limits. I believe everyone is capable of reaching their full potential - especially when they are surrounded by people who believe in them. I see the mind and body as deeply connected, and I trust in our ability to create real change when we commit to it. To me, the world is an open invitation to grow, explore and become.”
Isabella Bertellotti
Isabella (Bella) grew up in San Diego, California, spending her childhood training to be a ballet dancer. In 2021, she began her professional career with the Charlotte Ballet, performing for two years before moving to Birmingham to dance with the Alabama Ballet. During her time in Charlotte, she was introduced to Pilates by Olivia Stuart, as a form of cross training and injury prevention. Bella found that a consistent Pilates practice completely changed her dancing. Not only by increasing her strength, but also her resilience and deepening her connection to her body. It quickly became an important part of her training routine. After several years of practicing Pilates, Bella decided to share her love of movement with others and began her Reformer certification through Balanced Body, under Olivia Stuart. She is excited to show others how movement can transform the body and mind!
What makes her an optimist?
“My own experience with Pilates has made a movement optimist. Pilates has inspired me to push my own limits, gaining strength I didn’t know I could have. I am looking forward to watching others realize how strong they can be!”
Meredith Hwang
Meredith Hwang grew up in Potomac, Maryland, and danced pre-professionally throughout the country before beginning her professional career with Charlotte Ballet. After three seasons with Charlotte Ballet, she moved to Birmingham, Alabama and danced with Alabama Ballet for two seasons, and is now working towards her undergraduate degree at University of Alabama Birmingham majoring in Kinesiology, with a concentration in exercise science. Meredith discovered Pilates during her time as a pre-professional student, and instantly fell in love with it. She noticed that Pilates not only made her a stronger dancer as well as prevented injuries, but it also deepened her love for learning about how the body moves and functions, and how strong the mind to body connection truly is. After seeing how transformative Pilates can be, Meredith became inspired to share her knowledge and experience with others. Meredith has trained with Olivia Stuart as a student for several years, and further went on to earn her reformer certification under Olivia, through Balanced Body. Meredith hopes to use her experience as a professional dancer, alongside her Kinesiology degree, to help clients grow both physically and emotionally, and inspire them to find joy through movement.
What makes her an optimist?
“The joy of being able to continuously learn new ideas as Pilates and movement science continues to evolve, and share them with others makes me an optimist. There is nothing more healing than movement and there is nothing more powerful than optimism!”
